Plan a book swap party for your next girlfriend get-together

With the weather getting colder and outdoor get-togethers moving inside, book exchange parties are the perfect excuse to get your girlfriends together to swap the books they read over the summer on their vacations, at their pools or at the beach. Crafty bookmark decorations

Bookmarks can be ordered without tassels so you can decorate them any way you choose.

We want to thank our recent customer, Barbara, for sending us this photo of our “mini” Book Club bookmark design decorated with beads and ribbons.  Barbara ordered the laminated bookmarks without tassels, which left her the option of decorating the bookmarks with a stylish alternative.

Barbara, who is hosting a gourmet dinner/reunion for 18 friends, writes, “Just wanted to share a photo of my finished bookmark with you.  I wanted to add something a little more crafty than the standard tassel, and found a crystal beaded necklace at a thrift store for $1.  The necklace had enough beads to do all 18 of my bookmarks, and some ribbon and craft wire finished the project. I was kicking myself for not ordering your 1/8″ punch, when I remembered some heavy-duty upholstery-type needles that I have.  They worked perfectly to punch the hole and thread the ribbon through the bookmark.”

An idea for Star of the Week or your child’s birthday in school

Personalize a bookmark for your child's classmates to celebrate his or her birthday in school.

So it’s your child’s turn to be Star of the Week, or maybe it’s his or her birthday, and you want to give every child in the class a little something to help your child celebrate the special day in school.

We love this idea from a customer of ours who ordered our School Bus Journey bookmark to celebrate her daughter’s birthday. Each was personalized on the front with the student’s name, and the backside was printed with “Read a book in honor of Gaby’s 5th Birthday!”

Another one of our customers, a teacher, asked us to design a Star of the Week bookmark, which she ordered with each of her new student’s names printed on the back at the beginning of the school year. When each of her students became Star of the Week, they were presented with their personalized bookmark.

Custom Star of the Week bookmarks are personalized with a different name on each.

Because bookmarks promote reading, teachers and parents can feel confident their classroom gift is educational and will be appreciated by not only the children, but by their parents as well.
