We started this blog with the intention of sharing ideas from actual customer orders so that you could see the many occasions and events our versatile bookmarks could be used for, and the many ways in which customers personalize our bookmarks with both text and photos for totally unique favors and keepsakes. Today we’re showcasing two designs which were used to mark the retirement of a teacher and a city librarian.

Bookmarks are a sophisticated option when searching for party favors for a retirement.

Bookmarks are a sophisticated option when searching for party favors for a retirement.

The teacher who purchased the bookmarks on the left wanted something that could depict “the life of leisure” she envisioned she would have, specifically a beach scene.  We pointed her to a few designs in our catalog as a starting point, and she decided our Tropical Sunset Photo Scene bookmarker was the perfect image to convey her thoughts of retirement. Her photo was printed on the sunset photo side, and a message of thanks and some other retirement thoughts were printed on the backside.

The customer on the right was a city librarian for over 39 years at the time of her retirement. This custom designed bookmark depicted a waterfall photo on the front which was a personal choice acknowledging her deceased father who loved waterfalls.  The backside included the librarian’s photo along with specific text commemorating her years as head librarian of this large public library.

Since all of our bookmarks are made to order, customers are free to customize their bookmark choices with both photos and text to make them the perfect keepsake for any occasion or event.  Unlike “dust collector” favors, bookmarks are a useable, lasting item and offer a sophisticated option when choosing a favor.

Our "All Sports" design in our mini bookmark size was the perfect backdrop for this teacher's reading incentive bookmarks, personalized for every child in her class.

Our "All Sports" mini bookmark was chosen by this teacher as reading incentive bookmarks, individually personalized for every child in her class.

Kids love it when they see their name printed on an item, whether it’s a pencil, toothbrush or duffle bag.  Bookmarks personalized with children’s names encourage children to read, and in a classroom situation, could be used in the reading corner or in their “quiet time” books, when children read a few pages a day, mark their spot, and then continue the next day.

The All Sports bookmark design shown left was chosen by this teacher for reading incentive bookmarks.  The name of each child in her class was printed on the front, and the backside was cleverly printed with “Most Valuable Reader” and “Always remember… academics before athletics!”

With our easy online order forms and the ability to personalize each bookmark with a different name, finding reading incentive bookmarks for library programs, classrooms, and school reading programs is easy and fun. Choose from over 500 designs in categories such as Animals, Sports, Kids Designs, Readers, School & Education, to name just a few.  Bookmarks are available in 3 sizes, with or without tassels, and are laminated for durability.

More reading incentive bookmarker examples from actual customer orders will be shared in the weeks ahead, so stay tuned!

With the fast pace and “busy-ness” of life today, it’s no wonder save-the-date wedding announcements have become so popular, if not a necessity.  It can be as simple as a post card or as elaborate as fine wedding invitations, and everything in between, from refrigerator magnets to bookmarks.  We find bookmarks to be especially popular for save-the-date wedding announcements when the wedding reception is going to be held in the banquet room of a big-city public library.

Choose any bookmark design and customize it with your text for clever Save-the-Date wedding announcements.

Choose any bookmark design and customize it with your text for clever Save-the-Date wedding announcements.

That was the case with the bookmarkers pictured above from actual customer orders. The bookmark on the left depicts a photograph of the New York City Public Library and a simple save the date announcement: “Ali and Dan are getting married.  Bookmark the date…”   How clever!  This was a custom design, meaning we designed the bookmark from scratch beginning with a blank canvas.  The customer on the right chose a design from our catalog called “Bride and Groom” and it was customized with their save-the-date text. This couple, whose wedding was to be held in the Chicago Public Library, chose to give guests the specific details for making travel arrangements by utilizing the backside for this information.

Either way, choosing a bookmark for a wedding reception being held in a public library for your save-the-date announcements or your wedding favors is a clever idea and one that will be appreciated and used by your guests.

Custom bookmark for the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston

Custom bookmark for the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston

We often design corporate bookmarks for companies, institutions, and organizations, and one of the nicest that comes to mind when discussing these types of custom bookmarks is the one we made for the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston for the Laurel Endowment featuring a beautiful photo of a statue from the museum collection.

Corporate or organizational bookmarks can be used as promotional items, as give-aways, or as gifts or keepsakes for special events.  Realtors order bookmarks from us when they want a high-quality item to give to clients who have purchased property through them.  Sometimes it’s a medical practice, law office or investment firm.  Whatever the need, it’s apparent to us that companies and organizations often need bookmarkers that are a notch above mass-produced coated cardstock bookmarks, especially when they want the item to reflect the quality of their business.

In the months to come, we’ll feature more promotional or corporate bookmarks from actual customer orders, some including company logos. Stay tuned.
